In the wake of
LISD canceling their 3 year-old Pre-K Program, Early Learning Centers
is expanding our Pre-K program for the 3 year olds at four of our centers.
During the past four years ELC has partnered with LISD providing Pre-K for 3
year olds at our centers. During this time the centers participating were
certified "Texas School Ready" centers. Even though we won't have the LISD
teachers at our centers this year, we will still be using their state
approved curriculum and they will be assisting us in several ways.
The childcare program operates year round, Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 6pm.
Enrolled children receive breakfast, lunch and snack, as well as the educational benefits from the state approved curriculum. A maximum of 18 children will be enrolled in each classroom.
The requirements for the 3 year-old Pre-K program will
be slightly different than the LISD/ELC program. Families do not have to
be income eligible to enroll in the Pre-K program. Likewise, children who
turn 3 after September 1st can be enrolled in the Pre-K program once they
turn 3.
Parents may find out if they are eligible and what their fee would be by calling Jackie Rutherford at 765-9981.
