New Directions Early Learning Center is a cooperative venture between the Early Learning Centers and the Lubbock Independent School District to care for the children of teen parents.  The center is licensed for 76 children ages birth to five years old.  The center operates on a schedule identical to the LISD school calendar and is open to LISD students who have children.  All food and baby formula is provided by ELC.

New Directions ELC is on a Plan 3 monitoring with Day Care Licensing.  Inspections are made every 10-12 months to centers on a Plan 3,  that consistently comply or whose deficiencies are few and are promptly corrected.

New Directions ELC is also a Texas Rising Star center with the top rating of Four Stars.  To become a Four Star vendor, the center must meet high quality standards in the areas of staff qualifications and training, program, curriculum, supplies and equipment, health and safety, and teacher/child interactions.
